The Red Tent is a sacred gathering of women that always occurs on the new moon, a time when we are most in need of rest, reflection, and healing.
It is where we learn
The role of the Red Tent Leader is to offer seasonal and celestial wisdom related to what is happening in the world around us at the time of each gathering. This anchors us into our cyclical bodies and closes the gap between what is happening inside and what we are experiencing through the 5 senses on the outside. These teachings are among our oldest birth rites as women and they help us to navigate life in a cyclical body and experience greater harmony on all levels.
It is how we heal
The heart-share is the most important part of every Red Tent. This is a chance to speak openly and freely about our greatest challenge at this time. You will hear yourself in these other women as they will act as both your teacher and your mirror. The Leader provides the safe container for each woman to speak uninterrupted in a way that focuses on naming emotions rather than getting lost in the details/drama of the mind.
It is when we transform
Our role as women is to be the change in our families, community and workplaces. We are cyclic creatures. We ebb and flow through shifting energy levels and our intuition is highest at the new moon, which is traditionally when women bled and were pulled into a deep state of descent. This is when our truth is closest to the surface and our role is to speak it for the highest good of all. This allows us to see where change needs to happen as what we name in Red Tent, we claim in Red Tent.

Path of the 13 moons
Each Red Tent gathering falls on a different new moon within the calendar year. Each of these zodiac signs represent an archetype and specific lessons that we can work with on the path towards maturity.
The Red Tent leader provides the context for each new moon along with teachings on what behaviors can arise when this aspect of our self is in excess or deficiency so we can find our way back into balance in just this one area. This gives us one tangible aspect to focus on during each gathering which allows everyone to move forward in their growth journey with clarity and integrity.

These teachings have been passed down from mentor to student over countless millenia but have been lost over the past 2,000 years since the dawning of the patriarchal age of the 3 major religions. The sacred practice of the Red Tent was taken away from us and we have forgotten that our true power as women comes from gathering to harness and combine our intuition for the good of all. It goes by many names as it comes from all cultures across all continents – Red Tent, Moon Lodge, Blood Hut, Women’s Mysteries. The Red Tent has existed since the beginning of time and pre-dates the goddess temples + Magdalene Priestesses – it was a place for every women in the community to come to sit in stillness and be supported during the most delicate time of the female + lunar cycle.

Your Red Tent Educator
Christina McKenzie is a certified Red Tent Leader and seasoned educator who received these teachings in 2022 and has been facilitating this practice since early 2023 in addition to sitting in the Red Tent of her mentor, Tanishka the Moon Woman, since 2019.
Christina also holds 2 education degrees and has 15 years experience teaching in the public school system. She brings over 10 years experience studying women’s mysteries + cyclical teachings with mentors from all over the world in addition to her own real world experience as a teacher. She has completed both her advanced training in the consciousness-based healing of BodyTalk and as well as a Masters in Usuii Reiki.

This is a detailed and intensive journey through not just the practice of the Red Tent but the cyclical, seasonal and celestial wisdom you were denied as a young woman.
A Red Tent leader is someone who is grounded, compassionate and centered – this is a skill that is inherent and cannot be taught.
Due to the intimate nature of this container and the practice you will be training to lead women through, not all applicants will be successful for admittance into this program.
