What is a Red Tent Retreat?

Today, I am tucked in my home on an unbearably cold Saskatchewan day thinking about my business. To be honest, when is a small-business owner NOT thinking of their business…basically never!

I am just a few days past my 4th retreat in beautiful Riding Mountain National Park and already I find myself turning toward the next one, but perhaps just not yet.

Today I am really sinking into what a Red Tent Retreat truly is…and what is isn’t.

The Red Tent is our oldest practice as women and we initially spent 3 days and 3 nights within it’s walls. It is where we rested and restored our physical bodies – it is where we reconnected with our sisters and shared our wisdom. It is also where we learned just what we are and aren’t able to sustain any longer.

I have learned that a Red Tent Retreat is where we learn and discover as we heal and rest. It is not a place to come to be pampered, but a place to come with curiousity and an open-mind. These retreats I have created get us OFF the yoga mat and out in to the wisdom of nature. This time, we learned the basics of astrology and how to enterpret the entirety of 2025 using a detailed resource I had created. We also spent time in nature observing the signs and wisdom that came through. We shared food and laughter around the table and treated ourselves to a day at the nearby Nordic Spa.

Half of our attendees were brand new into the practice of the Red Tent. They showed up with their whole hearts and named hard things. They also fearlessly turned their gazes forward as every person’s share wraps up with how they will be moving forward.

Change comes when we marry intention with action.

Every women left this retreat changed.

So if you are looking to shift your life, if you are ready to pivot and not just be soothed, then a Red Tent Retreat is exactly what you might need.
